Team Accomplishments:

  • Our first season was in 2011 and we played a very competitive schedule, with mostly 7 year old players in U-9 league.  Our success is not measured by way of wins and losses, but rather 11 of our 12 players returned to play GVSC soccer in the winter and spring seasons, and all 11 players are currently playing travel soccer.
  • In 2012 the Cobra’s had very successful season winning the Delco Soccer League U-9 division championship with a record of 7 wins – 0 losses and 3 ties.  The team only gave up one goal the entire season!

Coach Bio / Philosophy:

  • Both Mike Albero and Brian Lutness have experience playing travel soccer as well as playing competitive high school soccer in the state of Delaware.   At the U-9 level, our focus is on teaching the basic skills, proper positioning and being competitive.  At this level, this is normally the first time in a young players life where the games “count” – meaning, we keep score and someone wins and someone loses.  We strive for teaching kids to play soccer the right way and having fun, but at the same time, we want to be competitive and teach good sportsmanship.
  • Our season plan is that we will play in the Delco Soccer League this fall.  We play in the George Pratt memorial Tournament in Cape May New Jersey over the Columbus day weekend.  We will play in the BYC futsol tournament in over the Christmas break, and the MapleZone indoor soccer league in the winter months.   In the spring, we play in the Delco spring soccer league.
