What is Travel Soccer?
Travel Soccer is designed for players who enjoyo playing soccer in a more competitive environment and are looking to take a step beyond intramural play. There is an extra cost and commitment associated with travel soccer. Average costs for a season can range between $400 – $1,000 depending upon the level of training, tournaments and league play the team participates in.

Where do they travel?
Travel is typically restricted to the Delaware Valley area but can stretch as far as Central PA or further. Our girls are affiliated with Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer (PAGS) and our boys are affiliated with Delaware County Soccer (DELCO).

How are teams formed?
Teams are formed and re-established each spring after an evaluation process via tryouts. The number of players trying out for a particular age group will determine the number of teams.

When is the season?
The traditional Fall season normally runs from early July to mid November. Some teams also participate in winter indoor leagues and spring seasons as well as tournaments throughout the year. GVSC attempts to participate in as many events as possible to improve the skill and learning of the player. Playing the game is the best teacher.

How often do travel teams practice?
Typically travel teams will practice one to two times a week in ‘pre-season’ (May – Aug) and then two to three times a week during the primary season (Aug-Nov). Many teams hold a camp week for the team during July or August. In addition, some teams select to attend higher level ‘stay over’ camps in the area.
